Perangkat ini memancarkan arus harmonisa invers melalui IGBT, menekan harmonisa sepenuhnya pada titik sambungan perangkat, dan menghindari kerugian yang lebih besar yang disebabkan oleh harmonisa yang mengalir ke pemutus arus atau transformator. Prosesor sinyal digital (DSP) internal berkecepatan tinggi miliknya mengekstrak komponen harmonisa dan arus reaktif dari bentuk gelombang yang terdeteksi, kemudian menghasilkan arus kompensasi fase berlawanan yang presisi. Arus kompensasi ini disuntikkan kembali ke saluran listrik melalui inverter *insulated-gate bipolar transistor* (IGBT), secara efektif menetralisir harmonisa dan memperbaiki faktor daya.
